I said at the beginning of summer I would post all the vegetables that came out of the garden. This would be impossible, but here is a weeks worth of veggies. We have eaten healthy all summer long.
All the tomatoes for a week, we have given many away. You can only eat so many tomatoes!
Our mouths have been on fire with all the peppers!
Squash and Zucchini have become our new best friends. Stir fried, grilled, and shredded up and hidden in just about everything we eat.
Cucumbers are having a tough time, but they are still coming.
Just thought this was a pretty picture of our peppers!
Another pretty picture of a pimento pepper.
Sadly, the broccoli and the swiss chard did not survive. Now we know, don't waste your money. They are too hard to grow. The broccoli got cabbage worms, GROSS, and we couldn't get rid of them. The swiss chard never got any bigger.

100 Years of Land Ownership!!!!!
On July 3, 2010, we went to Frank's family's home in Roxboro, North Carolina to celebrate 100 years of land ownership! Amazing! 100 years ago, two brothers who were just out of slavery bought 290 acres of land in Roxboro, North Carolina. They were able to pay it off in 2 years by growing and selling tobacco. Family from all over came to celebrate. There were people Frank had never met. The elders in the family talked about the history of the family and land. It was very interesting.
This is Theresa "Russa" Hughes. She still lives on the land, Frank and his family used to come here every summer to visit.
Everyone enjoying all the GREAT food.
The original owners of the home and one of the brother's that bought the land. Remnants of this house still stand next to Russa's home.
