100 Years of Land Ownership!!!!!

On July 3, 2010, we went to Frank's family's home in Roxboro, North Carolina to celebrate 100 years of land ownership! Amazing! 100 years ago, two brothers who were just out of slavery bought 290 acres of land in Roxboro, North Carolina. They were able to pay it off in 2 years by growing and selling tobacco. Family from all over came to celebrate. There were people Frank had never met. The elders in the family talked about the history of the family and land. It was very interesting.

This is Theresa "Russa" Hughes. She still lives on the land, Frank and his family used to come here every summer to visit.

Everyone enjoying all the GREAT food.

The original owners of the home and one of the brother's that bought the land. Remnants of this house still stand next to Russa's home.
